[After everything that happened Mitarai just wants to get back out of this dangerous outside world where people lose hope and commit murders. He's boiling himself an entire cup of coffee in the dorm common room kitchenette to take back into his room with multiple cups. Then he notices Waver and uh, wow, he knows it will look really antisocial to have made all this coffee and not share all this coffee.]

Do you... want some too?

[Ugh god this is really not what he should be saying when someone just died. Mitarai got the worst tears out of his system for like ten minutes in front of Max but Waver has no way of knowing that and Mitarai just wants the ground to swallow him up.]

[ waver on the other hand, hasn't cried at all. actually, he doesn't look like he'll be crying any time soon. but that doesn't mean that he's not troubled by it. he does understand the sentiment of wanting to disappear with a shitton of coffee, though.

that said, he's not going to reject the offer of coffee. in fact, he welcomes it. ]

[Mitarai finds his lips quirking down in frustration. It makes him realize Waver obviously was part of the investigation and therefore much more useful than him. Waver at least deserves to get his cup of coffee poured first, then, as Mitarai clarifies a little more. The facts in a murder mystery like this are important to publicize.]

I came out to the pool with everyone else, but I didn't investigate anything properly at all, no. I just went back in here eventually. I'm sorry...

It's fine, as long as others investigated too. [ a pause ] It's not like many people are ready to jump into a murder investigation.
